Twitter Experiment

In February 2009, Econsultancy experimented with their home page by placing a feed of all Twitter tweets mentioning the company. Skittles did something similar on their own homepage a few weeks later, causing some blogs to draw comparisons between the two.[4] Econsultancy increased their Twitter followers by 200 within the first hour of the experiment. Subsequently, Twitter is the fourth largest referrer of traffic to their site.[3] However some bloggers note the Twitter buzz fell away soon after launch.[5] Econsultancy is also one of the first companies to experiment with Twitter's Promoted Tweets' product and has over [6]. Econsultancy is also active on [7] and other social platforms.
