Ebulliophobia

Ebulliophobia is the fear of bubbles. The type of bubble depends on the individual. Different forms of bubbles include but are nor limited to soap bubbles, children’s bubbles made with wands, boiling water bubbles, bubbles from chewing gum, fizz bubbles from soda and / or bubbles from cooking food.

Causes

As with most phobias, the cause of such fear is usually the result of a negative childhood experience. A bubble was popped in the face and caused discomfort or the person was enclosed in a bubble shaped object, such as a Water-Walking Ball, and had a negative experience.

Fear

Most fear the bubbles popping near or on the face or becoming trapped in a bubble of some sort. They suffer from anxiety and nausea at the sight of bubbles.

Treatment

Like most phobias this one can be cured with therapy and / or medication for the anxiety one experiences as a result of the phobia.
