The Eastern Østfold Line (Norwegian: Østfoldbanens østlige linje) is a railway line which runs between Ski and Sarpsborg. It is a branch line, to the main Østfold Line. The Eastern Østfold Line runs east of the main line, serving communities such as Mysen, Askim and Rakkestad. Scheduled passenger service on this line is only provided between Oslo and Rakkestad, and most trains terminate at Mysen. However, freight trains and passenger trains diverted when the main line is closed use the entire line.
The line was opened in 1882, and electrified in 1958.[1]
