The Earful Tower is an icon used in Disney theme parks. The tower is based on water towers commonly found on Hollywood studio backlots of the first half of the 1900s, originally a safety measure to douse any fires on the film sets. The tower resembles the water tower found at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California, with the exception of the Mickey Mouse ears. In the Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris, the tower is named the Earffel Tower (an obvious pun on the Eiffel Tower).
Florida
The Earful Tower is located in Disney's Hollywood Studios's backlot area at the Walt Disney World Resort. The tower can be observed by guests riding the Studio Backlot Tour. The tower originally served as the park's icon along with the exterior facade of Grauman's Chinese Theatre at the Great Movie Ride. Eventually, The Sorcerer's Hat was completed on September 28, 2001 and has since served as the park's official icon.
Paris
The Earffel Tower is the icon for Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris. The tower stands 163 ft tall and includes special lighting on the outline of the tower's ears at night.
