EURELECTRIC (full name: The Union of the Electricity Industry-EURELECTRIC) is the sector association representing the common interests of the European electricity industry and its worldwide affiliates and associates.[1] Its corporate members are the industry associations of the most of European nations, themselves comprising the electricity generation and distribution companies.
EURELECTRIC hosts an annual convention at which energy policy is debated. It also co-funds studies into energy policy and is cited as an authority on European energy policy.,[2][3]
EURELECTRIC was formally established in 1989.[4] In the years late 1990s it had joint secretariat with Union of Producers and Distributors of Electricity (UNIPEDE).
The secretariat of the organization in located in Brussels, Belgium.
