eThority is a business intelligence (BI) company headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina owned by Equifax. Since 1992, it has been providing software for data reporting. The company developed its BI platform to allow customers to make use of their existing investments in data that remains idle in their legacy information systems. eThority's solutions are in use at major research universities and corporations.
eThority believes in what it calls a "user-obvious" interface that eliminates the need for training and opens the doors to data access and integration in a secure and compliant manner. The company's flagship product, eThority Enterprise Edition, allows users from across an organization to gain access to data stored in primary data sources (such as ERPs, CRMs and data warehouses) as well as secondary sources like personal spreadsheets and departmental databases. This functionality combines with analytics capabilities to allow users to access and use their data to solve business problems. The company positions its solutions in the market between high-end enterprise BI systems and desktop spreadsheets.
In August 2008, eThority received an "Innovators" award from the Charleston Regional Business Journal.[1] The publication featured eThority in July 2008.[2]
The company was profiled in March 2008 by Aberdeen Group, in April 2008 by B-Eye Network[3] and in May 2008 by TechJournal South.[4]
Equifax, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, purchased eThority in October 2011. eThority is partnering with TALX, a St. Louis-based business unit of Equifax, and will remain in Charleston. [5]
