Duck mussel
Duck mussel, Anodonta anatina, is a species of freshwater mussel, an aquatic bivalve mollusk in the family Unionidae, the river mussels.
Synonym: Anodonta piscinalis Nilsson, 1823

Distribution
Its native distribution is European-Siberian.

- Listed as specially protected species in annex 1 in Bundesartenschutzverordnung.
- Isle of Man - found at Lhen mouth (1922-25) and at Guilcagh (1985). Not protected by Wildlife Act 1990.
- Ireland - found sporadically throughout the Shannon-Erne waterways and in Lough Neagh[5]

- Sweden - it is the most widely distributed large freshwater bivalve in Sweden [8]
