driveme.in is a street view application that gives a drive through experience using a web based virtual car. driveme.in displays street level imagery that closely resembles the view that a person driving a real car would get. The application was launched in October 2008, on the occasion of the III Commonwealth Youth Games, by including a link in the official website of the Commonwealth Youth Games 2008, cygpune2008.com. As of October 2008, the application covered street level imagery of the city of Pune in India.
driveme.in displays the street level images in an ActiveX control that has a virtual dashboard with mouse controls to move forward, backward, turn and increase or decrease the driving speed. There are few other options that provide for tools to post flags, list local businesses, record & playback routes and generate driving directions.

driveme.in covers street imagery of hundreds of kilometers from Pune, Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar. It provides useful facilities to registered members, such as posting flags; people can record and share paths with others that can be played back.
Registered members can get for themselves e-addresses, using which they can mark places on the streets and distribute so that others know how to reach the address through automated landmark based driving directions. The unique feature of such e-addresses is that the same address can be mapped to several places. For instance, a bank can have an address called ATM, which could be mapped to several of their ATMs at various places. Subsequently if a user looks up for the driving directions to this address, the driving directions to the nearest ATM from the present virtual location would be generated.
driveme.in operates on a unique advertising model where advertisers can place balloon based text messages over the street imagery at designated locations, and build their own campaigns. These advertisements are not automatically context sensitive; this presents an opportunity to the advertisers to identify the context from the imagery, for example, traffic, and place their advertisement suitable for that context.
