Dream.7: Feather Weight Grandprix 2009 1st Round was a mixed martial arts event promoted by Fighting and Entertainment Group's (FEG) mixed martial arts promotion Dream on March 8, 2009. This event featured six of the opening round fights of the tournament which is contested at a 63 kg (139 lb) weight limit.

Event

The event consisted of nine mixed martial arts bout, all contested under Dream's MMA rules. Six of the bouts were part of Dream's 2009 Featherweight Grand Prix, with the remaining bout of the tournament's opening round (DJ Taiki's fight with Hideo Tokoro) taking place at Dream.8 due to DJ Taiki being injured.[2] Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto who is also participating in the tournament was given a first-round bye by FEG so he could recover from an ankle injury he received in 2008.[3]

Fernandes defeated Otsuka via unanimous decision.
Chase Beebe vs. Joe Warren
Warren defeated Beebe via TKO (doctor stoppage) at the end of the first round. The stoppage was due to a cut Beebe received over his left eye.[4]
Akiyo Nishiura vs. Abel Cullum
Cullum defeated Nishiura via unanimous decision.
Mitsuhiro Ishida vs. Daisuke Nakamura
Ishida defeated Nakamura via unanimous decision.
Shinya Aoki vs. David Gardner
Aoki defeated Gardner via submission (rear naked choke/ Hello Japan) at 5:58 of round 1.
Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Ross Ebanez
Kawajiri defeated Ebanez via submission (rear naked choke) at 4:03 of round 1.
Yoshiro Maeda vs. Micah Miller
Maeda defeated Miller via unanimous decision.
Hiroyuki Takaya vs. Jong Won Kim
Takaya defeated Kim via TKO (punches) at 0:40 of round 2.
Masakazu Imanari vs. Atsushi Yamamoto
Imanari defeated Yamamoto via split decision.
