DramaFever is a video website that specializes in streaming Asian dramas and specifically targeting an English-speaking audience. DramaFever has licensing deals with all three major Korean TV networks: Seoul Broadcasting System, Korean Broadcasting System, and Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation.[1]. It is the first website to work with all three South Korean content providers legally and will soon be adding Chinese, Taiwanese and Japanese TV shows.[2] The site was in beta for many months and went live on August 6, 2009 [3]. All videos are subtitled in English and the service has two services: free with commercials and limited episodes or premium with no commercials and all episodes and shows. Premium rates start at $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year.[4]. Videos are streaming in high quality flash video. DramaFever is only available to US and Canada users due to international licensing agreements.[5] DramaFever currently has many popular South Korean dramas online like Shining Inheritance and Boys Over Flowers and Cinderella's Sister The site's name is based on the "Korean Wave", or popularity of Korean dramas, also known as "Hallyu" or "drama fever".

In March 2010, DramaFever unveiled a partnership with Hulu[6], launching 5 titles: Coffee Prince, IRIS, Queen Seon Duk, My Lovely Sam Soon and Pasta.

In June 2010, DramaFever debuted the release of three Filipino telesyeres in partnership with ABS-CBN.[7]

On December 13, 2010 DramaFever was awarded the Korean Business of the Year Award by the Korean Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), the Korean Cultural Center and the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for their work in showcasing Korean content in the U.S.[8]

In 2011, Dramafever partners with San Diego Asian Film Festival to present the first virtual on-demand Asian American film festival titled "DigiFest." The film festival will run from September 1 to December 31 and feature an extensive collection of Asian American independent films and documentaries for free viewing at http://www.dramafever.com/digifest.[9]
