Eduardo José Gomes Camassele Mendes (born 18 January 1962 in Barcelos), aka Dito, is a retired Portuguese footballer who played as a central defender, and a current manager.

In 16 professional seasons, Dito appeared in 358 Portuguese first division matches, starting his career with Sporting Clube de Braga, for which he was already an important first-team member at the age of 18, signing with national powerhouse S.L. Benfica in 1986, after six years in Minho.
In two seasons with Benfica, he played in 27 league games in his first season as the Lisbon outfit won the double, then partnered Brazilian Carlos Mozer in his second (no silverware won). He then moved to rivals and title holders F.C. Porto for one season, with Benfica regaining its domestic supremacy at the expense of precisely the northerners.
From 1989–94, always in the top division, Dito represented Vitória de Setúbal, Sporting de Espinho and Gil Vicente FC. After an unassuming stint with A.D. Ovarense in the second level, he retired from football, aged 34.
Dito's biggest achievement as a coach was managing S.C. Salgueiros over the course of three top flight seasons, being sacked after the 10th round of the 1999–2000 campaign, with the Paranhos club eventually retaining its status. In 2009, he returned to his first team Braga, being appointed at its junior teams.
Dito played 17 games for Portugal, his debut coming in 1981 at the age of only 19. He did not attend any major international tournament, however.
