"Distancia" (In English: Distance), is the Fifth Studio album by the Latin Jazz Mexican Singer Magos Herrera. Released on May 5, 2009. Tim Ries produced the album along with Magos Herrera.
Recorded in New York, Distancia (JM Distribuidores, 2009), is the title of the latest disc from the singer Magos Herrera, where she performed songs by her and by composers like Antonio Carlos Jobim and Cesar Portillo de la Luz.
Herrera in this record, we shared a delicious potpourri of diverse cadenced and ten original themes "Reencuentro"; "Tus ojos"; "Staying Closer" and "Alegría", that pulses with scintillating vocal percussion interlacing rhythmic structures Pan-Afro/Americanas, with touches of sonorities that evoke Joni Mitchell, and pat-flavored flamenco, as well as reinterpretations of classic themes from Antonio Carlos Jobim, Milton Nascimento and Cesar Portillo de la Luz "Retrato em Branco e preto", "Inutil Paisaje", "Dindi", "Veracruz" and "Tu, Mi Delirio".[1]
