The Diana Award, previously know as the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Award, is for inspirational young people aged between 9 and 18[1]. It was founded in 1999 by the UK Government to act as a lasting legacy to Diana, Princess of Wales' belief in the power of young people to change the world.
Since 1999, over 36,000 young people have been awarded a Diana Award.[2]

The Diana Award's vision is to promote a culture that celebrates young people from all sections of society who have made a selfless contribution to their community. The Diana Award has five catagories for individulals and groups of young people aged between 9 and 18. Every successful nominee receives a prestigious national award which boosts their self-esteem and confidence.[4]

Receiving the Diana Award is just the first step of an Award Holders journey. They have to opportunity to sign up to the Diana Network and be part of a community of thousands of Award Holders across the UK.
The Diana Network offers Award Holders opportunities to volunteer, gain new skills and put these into practice with internships and work placements both in the UK and abroad.[5]
