Dharampatni

Dharampatni (English: Dutiful Wife) is a new Indian soap opera on Imagine TV. This serial is jointly produced by DJ's Creative Unit and Endemol India. It replaced the slot of the show Looteri Dulhan and started on 16 August at 9.30pm (8:00pm uae time) Monday–Thursday. Extraordinarily charming and heart-throb of girls' worldwide Harshad Chopra and super sweet and adorable Aasiya Kazi will star as the main leads. It will be a contemporary life story loosely inspired by Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba.

Plot

The story is about Mohan who is sent abroad at a young sgr and returns after completing his studies. When he returns there will be a behavioural change: He will be portrayed as an arrogant and spoilt brat who shows no affection towards his wife. This change will make the character look grey. His ideologies will be different from the others. There will be situations when his thought process counters society, but the character is not completely grey.

His wife, on the other hand, is very righteous towards him and always puts him first. She fulfills all her duties as his wife and cares for him immensely. She is a women who will do anything for her husband's and family's well-being and happiness. Although he pays no attention to her, she is still very loyal and passionate about him and treats him like a god. Later on, his character changes and he becomes more loving toward her. The main character is like Gandhi and their relationship as husband and wife resembles Gandhi and Kasturba. But the story will not be completely based on him.

In this story Kastur will be portrayed approximately 19 years of age.
