Del Norte High School is a public high school located on the NE corner of Montgomery Blvd. and San Mateo Blvd. in northeast Albuquerque, New Mexico. Del Norte is situated on a 45.2-acre (183,000 m2) campus in area. It is part of the Albuquerque Public Schools system. Del Norte High School was established in 1964. This school is home to around 1100 students. Del Norte High School is the smallest High School in the Albuquerque Public Schools

The Del Norte High School Castelles Drill Team last won 1st in State Competition in 2002. The Del Norte Chess team won the New Mexico State Championship in March 2007. Their AFJROTC unit NM-051 was first runner-up in their State competition, with their female color guard being the state champion in 2007. Their co-ed varsity cheer squad took first place in April 2008. In 2000 and 2001 the wrestling team took first place in the state tournament
Construction of a new school in currently underway on what was originally the Montgomery Blvd. parking lot, and is expected to be complete by January 2012. The new school campus will consist of a 3-story main building right on Montgomery Blvd, and a 2-story media center right next to the main building. Most of the original existing 47 year old single-story school building will be destroyed after construction on the new campus is finished, with the gymnasium being the only existing building that will remain after construction is completed. New construction is expected to boost enrollment and is scheduled to include a new soccer field on the site of the current classroom building. Construction was completed in 2010 on a new technology school on Del Norte's campus, called NexGen Academy. It is expected to have an enrollment of 1400 to 1500 students from grades nine through twelve.
Del Norte Guitar Program members Jason Rodriguez, Dennis Murphy, Vincent Sandoval, and David Martinez won seats in the 2011 New Mexico Music Educator's Association All State Guitar Ensemble, ranking them among the top high school guitarists in the state. Del Norte Choir Program member Melanie Pino was selected as a Soprano to sing in the 2011 New Mexico Music Educator's Association All State Choir, ranked as one of the top singers in the State of New Mexico.
Del Norte's Football team won the district title during the 2009 season, which gives Del Norte 2 district titles in 2 years. During the 2008 season, Del Norte's football team won the District 4A Championship, something that they had not achieved in over fifteen years. This was due largely to the new coaching staff.
In 2006, Katie Wiederholt took tenth in the State Cross Country Meet. She was a four year Letterman and was the teams MVP three years in a row.
The 1982 Del Norte baseball team won the NM state baseball championship and remain as the only DNHS baseball team to ever win it in the history of the school. They went 19-5 that year hitting over .400 as a team and coming through with great defense and stellar pitching when needed.
Del Norte High School is home to many different Clubs and Activities, ranging from Del Norte's Student Senate "Round Table" to Poi Club. Del Norte High School is very diverse but unified! Del Norte Activities like Round Table have won awards at the State level and Nationally!
