Dean of Exeter

The Dean of Exeter is the head of the Chapter of Cathedral Church of Saint Peter in Exeter, England.[1] The chapter was established by Bishop William Briwere (1224-44) who set up the offices of Dean and chancellor of Exeter Cathedral, allowing the chapter to elect those officers.[2] The dean's is the deanery at 10 The Close, Exeter. On 15 December 2011, HM Government announced the appointment of the Revd Canon Jonathan Draper BA PhD, Canon Theologian at York Minster to become the next Dean of Exeter.[3] Since the date of his last service at York Minster is yet to be announced, he will presumably move in 2012.[4]
