Dawana

The Dawana are a Seraiki speaking clan Jat clan found in the province of Punjab Pakistan. [1]

The Dawana are a clan of the Sial, claiming descent from Diwan Khan. Like all Sials, the Dawana claim descent from the Panwar Rajputs, having originally come from Dharanagri in central India. Other traditions make claim that the originated in Ludhiana and migrated to Shujabad near Multan some thousand tears ago. [2]

The tribe found mainly in Shujabad in Multan District, with a few settlements in Jhang and Sargodha.[3]
