History

DZEC was established on April 26, 1968 an AM Radio Station news, public service & religious broadcasting. It is similar to DZRH because it sometimes mentions its frequency & it has relay stations in Lucena, Dagupan, Cebu & Davao

DZEC's format is a combination 60% Radio Format (News, Commentary, Public Service, Radio Entertainment & Music) & 40% TV Format (TV Entertainment, Values, etc.) with nice stingers that represents a happy family in a happy home listening to DZEC. Similar to DZRH, DZEC rarely mentions its frequency since it has relay stations in Lucena, Dagupan, Cebu & Davao.

DZEC holds the distinction for being the first KBP Golden Dove Awards People's Choice for AM Station winning by a landslide margin over its nearest competitor. DZEC remains as the overwhelming choice of radio listeners reigning as the most listened to AM Station for two consecutive years (2009 / 2010).

In 2011, DZEC moved its studios from Maligaya Bldg. II in EDSA to 9 Central Avenue. Barangay New Era, Diliman, Quezon City. As of the moment, DZEC and its affiliate DZEM (the official radio station of Iglesia Ni Cristo) went off-the-air due to strong typhoon drought and upgrades its transmitter facilities but DZEC continued broadcasting on the internet and provincial relays.
