Founded in 1995, it has become the largest exchange point worldwide in terms of peak traffic with a maximum throughput of 4029.5 Gbit/s [1]
DE-CIX operates nine Force10 TeraScale E1200 switches and serves various locations in Frankfurt. Seven switches act as edge switches that support 1GE and 10GE customer connections and two switches are used for the redundant core infrastructure.
