D&D (band)

D&D was a Japanese girl group that was moderately popular in the late '90's. Its members were Olivia, Chika (Higa Chikano) and Aya (Uehara Aya). The trio are from the Okinawan Actors School and were managed by Rising Production.

The group followed fellow Okinawan Actors School members and all-female pop group MAX in singing Japanese Eurobeat covers of European and American dance groups/artists. "D&D" is an acronym for "Dance & Dream". Their music could be described as J-pop mixed with Eurobeat.

Late in 1998, producer Tetsuya Komuro decided that Olivia had the potential to become a solo artist, and she dropped out of D&D.

Aya and Chika followed together, but under the name Aya & Chika from D&D, releasing two more singles before disbanding. A third single had been planned but was later canceled.
