Crumbs Bake Shop (also known as Crumbs or Crumbs Bakery) is a bakery headquartered in New York City, New York. Founded as a single bakery in 2003 on the Upper West Side of Manhattan by Mia & Jason Bauer, the company has since expanded to 35[2] bakeries across the New York area, Chicago, Washington DC/Virginia and Los Angeles. Future plans for Crumbs are to expand to 200 stores by 2014.

Crumbs main focus is on gourmet cupcakes, and produces more than 50 varieties.[3] It is currently the largest cupcake chain in the United States[4] out of around 400 retailers. Crumbs cupcakes differ from classic, single-flavored and frosted cupcakes by having a variety of fillings and styling and by being much larger than a standard cupcake. Cupcake flavors are based on themes or take inspiration from other desserts, such as the cookie dough, tiramisu or caramel apple cupcakes. There are also cupcakes named after Artie Lange and Gary Dell'Abate from the Howard Stern Show and Elvis Presley. Cupcakes from Crumbs come in three main sizes, the mini "Taste" size, the "Classic" size (labeled as "supermarket size") and the "Signature" size, which are almost double the size of standard cupcakes at six ounces and four inches in height.[5] The bakery also makes a Colossal Cupcake which is about 6 and a half inches high and serves between 6 and 8 people.[6]

Crumbs is also heavily invested and active on social media, running campaigns through Foursquare, Twitter and Facebook.[7]

On Thursday, June 30th 2011 Crumbs became a public company and available for public trading on NASDAQ as CRMB. Shares started at $13.10 and rose to $13.30 by midday, giving the compay a market value of $58.9 million.[8]
