Corteno Golgi (Còrten in Camunian dialect) is an Italian village and comune in the central Alps, in the province of Brescia, High Camonica Valley, the famous valley of Prehistory.
The area has forests and mountain rivers. There is also a museum dedicated to Camillo Golgi who was born in Corteno in 1843. Golgi was the first Italian to be awarded with the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1906. In 1956 the name of the village was changed from Córteno to Córteno Golgi in memory of the scientist.
