Competition of Google Street View
Google Street View is by far the most extensive street view service in the world, but there are others who provide more specific coverage to a certain area:
Asia
- China: Chinese company City8 introduced Street View for Beijing and other cities in July 2006, a year ahead of Google.[1][2] Also, web service Soso.com offers street view for some parts of Shenzhen, Gobi Desert, including Lhasa and other small populated places.[3][4]
- Iraq: A local service called iErbil offers street view for some streets of Arbil.[5]
- Japan: Location View launched in May 2007, offering street-level views of Tokyo and several other cities.[6]
- Kazakhstan: Russian company Yandex, offers street view for Astana.[7]
- Macau: Mapjack provides view coverage for some streets.
- Malaysia: Mapjack provides view coverage for some streets of Kuala Lumpur.
- Singapore: Mapjack provides view coverage for some parts of the country.
- South Korea: Daum provides street view coverage for large parts of the country including both urban and rural areas.[8]
- Thailand: MapJack provides street views of the south of the country.[9]
- Turkey: Russian company Yandex, offers street view for Ankara and Istanbul.[10]
Europe
- Belarus: Belarusian company Interfax.by offers street view for Minsk and Grodno. Also Russian company Yandex, offers street view for Minsk.[11]
- Denmark: The danish map-tool, Krak, offers their own version of street view in the largest danish cities, including Copenhagen, Odense and Aarhus. Nokia Maps offers street views of Copenhagen.
- Finland: Nokia Maps offers street views of Helsinki.
- France: French website Urbandive.com offers street views of major cities in France.
- Greece: Greek company Kapou has introduced a similar system.[12]
- Latvia: Latvian website 1188.lv offers street view for Riga.[13]
- Norway: Norwegian web page finn.no launched their own Street View service. There are 12 cities and towns available so far. The quality of the imagery seems better than the service offered by Google, and the images are more recently taken. Nokia Maps offers street views of Oslo.
- Poland: Polish website Zumi.pl offers street view for different cities in the country.[14]
- Romania: Romanian company NORC is taking pictures of the Romania and other countries in Eastern and Central Europe.[15] NORC has 360 degree pictures for the biggest Romanian cities, for the Danube Delta (using a boat for capturing photos), for some cities in Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Russia and in Austria (Vienna).
- Russia: The first 360 degree panoramas project was started by real estate website gdeetotdom.ru on March 17, 2008. Currently, it has street view panoramas for 62 cities in Russia.[16] Russia's largest search engine Yandex launched street view on September 9, 2009.[17] Street Panoramas at Yandex work for Moscow, and more others cities in Russia. Regional portals for ru09.ru have street views for Tomsk,[18] Novosibirsk[19] and Sochi.[20] There are also local websites that offer street view: cityscanner.ru in Yekaterinburg and properm.ru in Perm.
- Slovenia: Slovenian informatician Boštjan Burger introduced first Street view already in the year 1998 for the capital Ljubljana. Until the year 2004 all major towns were covered with street views including the virtual tours of all Slovenian museums. Slovenian largest mobile company launched street views of Ljubljana in mobile phones with the Planet service in 2005.
- Spain: Nokia Maps offers street views of Barcelona.
- Sweden: There are various Swedish street view analogues; the two most popular ones are Gatubild ("Street picture") at Hitta.se with 29 cities, which launched in December 2008, and Gatuvy ("Street view") at Eniro with eight cities and three winter resorts, which launched in December 2009. Nokia Maps offers street views of Stockholm.
- Switzerland: GlobalVision launched VideoStreetView web-platform in December 2009. Accessible through VideoStreetView.com, the projects covers large parts of the country and displays 360° immersive images in full-video motion alongside dynamic maps.[21] The public project is reportedly developing to other major cities and metropolitan areas around the world, Dubai, Saïgon and Bangkok, among others.
- Ukraine: Russian company Yandex, offers street view for Kiev (Kyiv), Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Pripyat (well-known abandoned city near Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant) and other locations.
- United Kingdom: seety.co.uk provides coverage for London.[22] Nokia Maps offers street views of London.

- Argentina: Two Argentine analogues also exist, one is called Mapplo,[25] which is the first street view in Latin America.[26] Fotocalle, another Argentine project, is the first street view in the world that provides HD pictures.[27]
- Chile: Chilean company Publiguías released a service similar to Google's Street View in December 2010 called "Street Diving". It currently offers views of Providencia and Santiago communes, with plans to expand it to other communes in the future.[28] XYGO launched a street view service in April 2011 marginally covering seven cities.[29]
