Information on the candidates
- District Eight
- Tino Fargnoli ran for a school commission seat in 1983 and 1987, identifying as an administrator on the latter occasion.[1]
- Pierre Légaré served on a parents committee for health issues in the Jérôme-Le Royer division in the mid-1980s.[2] He identified as an administrator in 1987.[3] In 1997, he was appointed by the government of Quebec to serve on a council that recommended a restructuring plan for Montreal's school boards.[4]
- Rene Tranchemontagne, a first-time candidate, identified as a vice-president of sales and marketing.[5] He planned to run for the Saint-Leonard city council in 1994, but withdrew before election day.[6]
- District Eleven
- Andy Biondi was an assistant principal and first-time candidate.[7]
- District Twelve
- Vittorio Galerio ran for the Saint-Leonard city council in 1978 as a Parti civique candidate and in a 1985 by-election as a candidate of Domenico Moschella's Action civique de Saint-Léonard. He was defeated both times.[8] He was elected to the Jérôme-Le Royer board in 1983 and served for one term. Galerio was not initially part of any council faction in the 1987 election, though he eventually aligned with Joe Morselli's group.[9]
- District Thirteen
- Bob Mormina was a thirty-one-year-old leasing consultant in 1987.[10]
- Andre Blair identified as a teacher.[11] In 1985, he was the leader of a group of parents who opposed the planned transfer of 450 seventh grade students to a new school.[12] The following year, he protested the board's decision to hold closed meetings.[13] He ran as part of a slate led by commissioner Gilles Caron in 1987.[14]
