ComicAttack.net was founded in 2009 by Andy Liegl, and is based out of Los Angeles, CA. The site's tag line is "Usurping your inner geek," and boasts a large staff of over 20 regular columnists. Its focus is everything comic book related, all presented from the unique perspective of comic book fans.
Liegl also works on the retail side of the comic book industry, managing a comic book stores in Los Angeles, Collector's Paradise. In 2008 & 2009 the store won the My Fox LA "Best Comic Book Shop in Los Angeles" Award.[1] In addition, he's a trained professional actor and actor combatant. His most notable acting credit being the Hero French Musketeer in season 2 of Spike TV's Deadliest Warrior. In that episode he was the last man standing, thus being the Deadliest Warrior.
ComicAttack.net also has two industry professionals writing for the site in Ken Meyer Jr. and Jeff Balke. Meyer Jr. has worked on such published comic books as Alan Moore: Portrait of an Extraordinary Gentlemen, Clint the Hamster Triumphant, and more. His work has been extensively published in the realm of gaming, most notably with Wizards of the Coast's Magic the Gathering CCG (he painted Kird Ape, Abu Ja'far, and 12 other cards). His work is also featured in the White Wolf RPG and their CCG, Rage, the Dune CCG, and the Vampire the Masquerade CCG. Jeff Balke was recently hired by Zenescope Entertainment as one of their resident colorists.
Other notable industry connections of ComicAttack.net is journalists Melissa Kay and Cambria Beauvais both work for the licensing company Striker Entertainment which has property rights with such companies as Lions Gate Films, Heavy Metal, The Estate of Philip K. Dick, DreamWorks, and more. Dan Royer (a.k.a., Decapitated Dan), is the organiser of the Chicago area's celebrated Dan Con comic book convention. Also, staff writer, Andrew Hudson, is the biological son of actor, Ernie Hudson.
