The UT Arlington College Park Center is an indoor arena on the University of Texas at Arlington campus currently under construction in Arlington, Texas.[2][3] It will seat about 6,500 spectators. Ground breaking occurred on for March 5, 2010, with an opening of the facility on February 1, 2012.[4] The arena will host the University of Texas at Arlington Mavericks basketball teams. It will replace Texas Hall as the home of the Mavericks athletics teams.
In the fall of 2010, the University received a $5 million gift towards completion of the arena by Carrizo Oil & Gas, Inc.[5] (Carrizo is drilling several gas wells on the UTA campus).
