The Collège du Saint Esprit is a Catholic, boys-only, high school based in Quatre Bornes, Mauritius.[1] It is one of the star schools of the country and is well-known for its academic quality and also for its high performance at the inter-college sport competitions.[2] The college has the tradition of Higher School Certificate laureates who compete for state scholarships for foreign tertiary education.
The 'College du Saint Esprit' is also popular for organizing activities such as high school concerts and sport activities like the annual cross country and sport day to which other confessional colleges are usually invited. It also organizes public and open activities such as the annual fancy fairs. [3]
There is also another branch for boys and girls (Saint Esprit Case Noyale) which is found at Case Noyale, Mauritius. [4]

The secondary school was founded in January 1938 by Fathers of the Congregation of The Holy Spirit.
In 1920, The 'Séminaire Père Laval' was inaugurated and in 1926 'le Collège Père Laval' was founded with priests as teachers. However, due to a lack of priests, 'le Collège Père Laval' closed his doors and it was only in 1938 that the college re-opens his doors as le Collège du Saint Esprit. In 1950, the college obtained his first laureate (Roland LAMUSSE).
In 1972, l’Abbé Adrien WIEHE became the first Mauritian Rector of the college and four years later there was the beginning of the secular administration with Mr Cyril LECKNING as rector of the college. The second secular rector was Mr Raymond RIVET in 1987 who was then succeeded by Mr Georges HO WAN KAU in 1995. Mr Jacques MALIE became Rector on 2000. [5]
