History

The club was founded in 1992 under the name of Colchester Royals. In 1998 they became affiliated to Colchester United F.C.

The club won the 2006–07 South East Combination Women's Football League winning promotion to the FA Women's Premier League Southern Division, the second tier of English women's football. Kat Parnell has been voted the greatest ever player for Colchester L.F.C by fans of the club.
