The primary rival of CHS is Lake City High School, the second high school in the city. LCHS opened in 1994 and draws from the south and west areas of the school district. Other 5A schools in north Idaho include nearby Post Falls HS to the west, and Lewiston HS to the south. Moscow HS was a longtime rival until it dropped to 4A (then A-2) in 1979. [2] Sandpoint HS to the north was also a traditional rival, but is now in 4A.
