Pterogyne nitens is a species of legume in the Fabaceae family. It is also known as Amendoim Bravo, Cocal or Madeira Nova, in Portuguese, and yet GuirarĂ³, Palo Coca, or Tipa Colorado, in Spanish. It is found in Brazil, Paraguay, Bolivia and Argentina. It is threatened by habitat loss.
