No post-vote arrivals or timekeepers in series
It was all aboard as the tour bus embarked on another adventure, this time from near Leeds. The first port of call was Kingston upon Hull with a spot of maypole dancing, before heading to Hull's spectacular aquarium. At the end of the day the couples voted and with three votes Yasmin and Neelofer received the first yellow card.
On day two of the trip the group arrived in Amsterdam for the second time in history. After touring the city's canals by pedalo they learned the exotic art of burlesque dancing. At the vote Brendan introduced the new voting rule: the couple who received a yellow card the previous day was immune from a yellow card the following day, meaning Yasmin & Neelofer could not be voted for, but could still cast a vote themselves. The couples voted for the second time and gave Amanda & Nicki their first yellow card with two votes, which put them in emotional danger. The new rule made Yasmin & Neelofer escape the red card on day 2 since Paul & Heidi did that on day 2 of series two.
The coach headed for rural Holland on day three for a life drawing class in Vincent van Gogh's house. The trippers' artistic 'talent' left Brendan crying with laughter. At the vote held in North Germany, with Amanda & Nicki being immune from any red card votes cast by others against them, it came to a three-way tie between Timo & Val, Glenn & Becca and Yasmin & Neelofer, all with two votes. The other couples had to agree on who to award a yellow card for Yasmin & Neelofer it would be followed by a red card. They chose to give the yellow card, followed by the red card, to Yasmin & Neelofer meaning they were the first couple to be sent home despite the introduction of the new voting rule from the previous day.
The tourists headed to Bremen in North Germany. But on arrival a dramatic emergency call was made after Marg fell ill, resulting in an unexpected early departure from the trip for her and Mo. However, the numbers were soon bolstered by some lively new arrivals. As it was Nick & Mark's first day they could not be voted for but could cast a vote against other couples. The dreaded yellow card fell to Glenn & Becca with three votes.
In Hamburg, some familiar faces from the previous year, Ray & Glenys, returned to the group. After a visit to a submarine, it was all out conflict between two couples. At vote time as it was Ray & Glenys' first day of their new tour and as Glenn & Becca received a yellow card the previous day they were both immune from the vote. With four votes, Timo & Val received a yellow card with a vote from every couple except Ray & Glenys and Sam & Charlie. The main reason for receiving so many votes was that they had tried and failed to convince the other couples to vote for fellow couple Amanda & Nicki who started escaping the red card more than once since their immunity.
The tourists woke on the night ferry as it arrived in Gothenburg. Brendan whisked the party off to the city's famous fish market, where rotten fish was on the menu. At the vote, with Timo & Val immune from any votes, Glenys & Ray received their first yellow card primarily due to Ray's inability to keep his waffling in check.
The coach arrives in Jönköping, Sweden, where Brendan's plans for a synchronised swimming lesson were dashed as the pool was closed, so the icy local lake beckons instead. Timo & Val were the only people who refused to join in. Afterwards the couples were invited to have a go at basejumping. Due to her age, Margaret in particular gained respect for agreeing to try it. Timo was left embarrassed after ducking out at the last minute, after he was already up the lift and about to jump. Amanda & Nicki's first arch-rival Timo & Val refused to do almost every activity of the day and consequently received a vote from every other couple since Mark & Ann received six votes on day 21 of series three, that a clean sweep giving them their second yellow card followed by their red card, meaning they had to walk the plank and go home.
Amanda & Nikki were almost booted off the coach after being late in the morning, but were let of with a warning as they had timekeeping issues. Amanda lost her precious diamond ring, and it was unknown whether it was in her luggage, as a result of rushing to pack her belongings in the morning after oversleeping. And, in some Swedish woods, the group had a lesson in mind over matter, including fire-walking. At the vote the Ray & Glenys received the second yellow card which became red with four votes. They made a new record of 4 days on the coach. The main reason for their departure was Ray's tedious monologues about various subjects which, while clearly fascinating to him, were boring to the other coach trippers.
As the tour rolled in to Stockholm where the Ericsson Globe is, goth rockers - and ex-relations - Chris from 'Girls That Scream' and Lauren joined the travelers. But the day's sightseeing was forgotten in a shocking moment of real-life drama as the coach crashed into a tunnel after the driver did not observe the prior warning sign displaying the height restrictions. At the hardest vote yet it came to a two-way tie between Sam & Charie and Nick & Mark. The group decided to give Nick & Mark the yellow card, as they thought they would survive for longer than Sam & Charlie with a yellow card.
After a night ferry crossing, the tour arrived at Nuuksio Park in rural Finland, where the tourists were eaten alive by mosquitoes as they attempted to master local folk dancing. When it came to the vote, the atmosphere amongst the travelers was very good, and so Martin & Margaret received a yellow card for the simple reason that they had not yet received one and the other couples did not want anyone sent home before any red cards.
The coach departed the woods arrived in the Finnish capital of Helsinki, where the tourists tried a spot of ice hockey at the Hartwall Areena before having a hot and steamy session in a sauna. At the vote it came to a two way tie with Nick & Mark already on a yellow card and Sam & Charlie with no yellow card yet. As Sam & Charlie had not yet received a yellow card the group decided to give it to Sam & Charlie.
In Tallinn, Estonia, Brendan planned a stag party, which began with the coach being ambushed by Soviet soldiers. Later, the ladies got to grips with a butler in the buff. At the vote with Sam & Charlie immune from any votes and with Nick & Mark gone due to their exhaustion there was friction at the vote between Chris & Lauren and Teresa & Katie, with Teresa & Katie receiving four votes and Chris and Lauren receiving two votes Teresa & Katie received their first yellow card. After the vote Chris & Lauren were the only couple to have not yet received a yellow card.
In Parnu, Estonia, Brendan cast his critical eye over some local glass-making 2 years after glassblowing was held in Venice. The afternoon was spent trying Estonia's national sport kiiking - with mixed results, including a trip to hospital. At the vote with Teresa & Katie immune from any votes Chris & Lauren received the first yellow card as other couples were having problems with Lauren but having fun with Chris meaning all couples have a yellow card which soon meant red cards for any couple.
The coach, Brendan and the passengers arrived boarding into Latvia. Moving on to Sigulda in Latvia, the group got stuck into some medieval games, before meeting a cheeky new couple and taking to the skies at a skydiving centre. At the vote the yellow card club group has shattered with red cards for more exploded bombshells, because Martin & Margaret had canvessed for votes during the day Brendan had to remove them from the coach and sent them home with a red card just before Teresa & Katie received their second yellow card sending them home with a red card.
With Martin & Margaret and Teresa & Katie gone the day starts with 4 empty spare seats to be occupied. The tourists round off the week in Riga, Latvia, and summer bobsleighing returned after its 2 year absence on coach trip. A Coach Trip first saw Chris's band 'Girls That Scream' played at the start of the show. At the vote Amanda & Nicki's arch-rival Chris & Lauren received 4 votes and were sent home with a second yellow card followed by a red card which was good news to Amanda & Nicki who escaped the red card 13 times.
Six empty spare seats were left to be occupied on the coach. In Šiauliai, Lithuania, the tourists paid a visit to the spectacular Hill of Crosses, one of the country's major Catholic pilgrimage sites. Later, they partied with a local folk group. With two new couples, Sophia & James and Beryl & Janet, immune from any votes the couple without a yellow card were Carmel & Chris. After a close vote Carmel & Chris received their first yellow card.
2 empty spare seats were still remaining left by Chris & Lauren. In Vilnius, Lithuania, the group paid a harrowing visit to the KGB museum and, despite Brendan's attempt to cheer everyone up in the afternoon in segways, the day ended in turmoil, with a shock red card at an emotional vote. With the emotional vote, the popular Sam & Charlie leave the coach with three votes and a second yellow card, sending them home with a red. Their change in tactic did not prove successful.
With Chris & Lauren and Sam and Charlie gone the day starts with 4 empty spare seats to be filled. Day 18, in Kaunas, Lithuania, brings more new arrivals, a disastrous traditional cookery lesson and a spectacularly unsuccessful raft-building session. At the vote with Miko & Paula immune from any votes Beryl & Janet receive their first yellow card with three votes.
After 4 couples were sent home by a red card 5 days ago and 6 arrivals joined, 2 more new tourists - Maggie & Chris - joined to get the coach back up to 14 passengers. The Morning's activity was fishing. After lunch the group did wind cart racing but there was hardly any wind as Amanda & Nicki won the race meaning defeat for their arch-rival James & Sophia. At the vote James & Sophia received four votes and a yellow card but on the next vote they'll put up a shield.
The Lithuanian love-in continues in Klaipėda, as the group met dolphins and a huge sea lion at the Sea Museum. Later, they scoured the beach for Baltic amber. At the daily vote, Miko & Paula received their first yellow card so despite James & Sophia's immunity Amanda & Nicki escaped the red card once again.
The tourists arrive in Sweden and drive to Malmo, where they receive a rap lesson from a local pop star. At the vote James & Sophia went home with their second yellow card followed by a red card. During dinner Carmel & Chris received a call saying that they had to return home.
In Copenhagen, the tourists try to see the city by kayak, but Brendan falls out of his vessel, and the major city waterways prove too much for the plucky Brits. At the vote with a vote from every othe couple Miko & Paula receive their second yellow card, followed by a red card.
In Odense, Denmark, Amanda and Nicki's prayers were answered in the form of hunks Geoff & Jack. On a visit to the Hans Christian Andersen museum, Amanda and Jack flirt heavily. At the vote with Geoff & Jack immune from any votes as they were a new couples Maggie & Chris received their first yellow card.
Glamorous girls Kayley & Helena join the coach in Aarhus, Denmark, and Amanda and Nicki were instantly suspicious of the new arrivals, later in the day new couple Phil & Celia joined the group for some wood carving. At the days vote with Maggie & Chris, Phil & Cylia and Kayleigh & Helena immune from any votes Geoff & Jack received their first yellow card with 5 votes on the soonest possible time they could for the next day's immunity.
In Alborg, Denmark the rivalry escalates between new girls Kayley & Helena, and Amanda & Nicki, while mucking out at a pig farm in Bacon, Denmark proves too much for the tourists. At the vote with Jack & Geoff immune from any votes Phil & Celia reveive their first yellow card with 4 votes.
The tour party arrives off the ferry in Norway, where the group learn handball and tackle a 1 km zip wire across a river. At the vote the only couple without a yellow card, Amanda & Nicki's final arch-rival Kayley & Helena, receive their first yellow card, meaning all couples are now on yellow cards.
The coach trundled into Oslo and Brendan took the tourists for a spot of culture at the Munch museum. They then spent the afternoon at a theme park and at the vote, Phil & Celia received the red card with 4 votes cast against them meaning to miss out on the night train but despite Kayley and Helena's immunity Amanda & Nicki escaped the red card once again.
After a bad night's sleep on the night train, the tourists arrive in Bergen, before boarding a boat to tour the stunning fjords, and then going skiing, with predictable results, as Kayley and Helena are voted off the coach. Kayley & Helena received the red card with 5 votes against them courtesy of Amanda & Nicki's final victory.
In Voss 'Appnin, Norway, on the last full day of the post-ash cloud coach trip, the party goes black water rafting and abseil down sheer cliffs, before voting for their favourite couple. Chris and Maggie won the series with three votes by winning a voucher for a a future coach trip tour, Glenn and Becca received 2 votes and Nick and Amanda voted for Jack and Geoff
It's the journey home and Brendan reminisces about the best and worst of the last 30 days on the road. Coach trip history is made with two couples lasting a whole month on the coach for the first time, the two couples being Amanda & Nicki who kept turning coach life around and Glenn & Becca as two couples were congratulated by Brendan.
Finally, Brendan bids farewell to the coach trippers and Paul before walking off into the airport terminal.
