ClaroCOM is a brand operated by Galaxy Communications Company, a privately owned Panamanian telephone company. It is authorized by the "Autoridad Nacional de los Servicios Publicos" to provide local, national and international telephone service in Panama.
ClaroCOM was founded in 2001, and started to provide service in January 2003[1] when the telecommunications market in Panama was liberated. ClaroCOM now operates the biggest international long distance operation behind the incumbent Cable & Wireless Panama.[2]
ClaroCOM recently launched Clarolite, a world wide Voice over IP (VOIP) based soft phone that provides world wide calling .
Galaxy Communications Corp. is run by its founders, Seth A. Redlich and Pedro A. Cordovez. Seth Redlich is now the Chairman of the Board and Pedro Cordovez is the CEO. The company operates out of Panama and USA.
