Cinderelmo

Cinderelmo is a 65-minute television film, a Cinderella story, featuring Sesame Street's Elmo and Keri Russell.

Plot

CinderElmo is similar to Cinderella. His stepmother (Kathy Najimy) wants him to "Dust", while she goes to Princess Charming's (Keri Russell) 18th birthday ball. The only problem is that the princess must choose a husband by the twelfth stroke of midnight. Then, the not-so-nice stepmother and stepbrothers leave. CinderElmo sings with Zoe about how much he wants to go to the ball. Then, his fairy godperson (Oliver Platt) comes and teaches CinderElmo that dreams don't come easy and you have to work to get it. So, CinderElmo takes a shower, while his fairy godfather thinks of magic spells to help CinderElmo. Soon, CinderElmo is dressed like a prince, in a satin robe. His friends Zoe and the dog, Prince (French Stewart) are dressed like courtiers, and a dogbowl becomes a furnished coach. At the ball, the princess dances with many suitors, until CinderElmo catches her attention, during a dance number. She dances only with him, and choses him to be her husband. Unfortunately, the clock strikes twelve, during her proposal, and he runs home, leaving behind his silver shoe. The princess tries it on all the men and monsters in the kingdom, until she finds CinderElmo, who is unable to marry the princess, for he's only three-and-a-half. The princess sees that CinderElmo wants to be with her, invites him and his stepbrothers to the castle.
