Chyp-Notic were a German Eurodance band, which was founded in 1988, and had some hits between 1990 and 1993. Due to its keyboard effects and the basic rhythm pattern the song sounded very similar to Londonbeat´s "I've Been Thinking About You", but it can also be seen as a predecessor to the upcoming boygroup music that began to become very popular at that time.

Vlad Mint, Jan Erik and Walter Bee founded the band in 1988 under the name Toys. Two years later, the trio renamed to 'Chyp-Notic',and got a recording contract with Coconut Records. Mint stopped his training as a dental technician, Bee ended his job as a computer programmer and Erik sold his shares at a nightclub.
It was followed by the first and to date best-known single Nothing Compares 2 U. The fast-paced cover of Sinéad O'Connor's cover of a Prince's song for his band The Family reached No. 16 of German single charts. After two albums and several successes, including a top-20 placing for the third single I Can´t Get Enough(1991), the band broke up in 1994.
