Christopher De Souza

Christopher De Souza, (born 21 January 1976), is a partner of the law firm of Lee & Lee and a Member of the Parliament of Singapore for the Holland-Bukit Timah Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in charge of the Ulu Pandan ward.

Education

De Souza completed his primary education at St. Michael's School and his secondary studies at St. Joseph's Institution. After completing his 'A' Levels in Raffles Junior College, he went on to King's College, London to read Law and graduated with an LLB (First Class Honours). De Souza did his B.C.L (Bachelor's in Civil Law) at the University of Oxford as a Royal Dutch-Shell and University of Oxford Scholar. He attended St. John's College.

Legal career

De Souza began his legal career back in Singapore in 2002 as a Justices' Law Cleck to the Chief Justice and Court of Appeal. In 2004, he was appointed State Counsel and Deputy Prosecutor, Attorney-General of Singapore. In 2005, he became Assistant Registrar at the Supreme Court and a Magistrate at the Subordinate Courts. In 2006, he joined the law firm, Lee & Lee, as a partner.

Political career

In 2006, De Souza was elected as a Member of Parliament for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC.[1] He also joined Young PAP as the vice-chairman and in-charge of the politics and policies sub-committee.[2]
