The discography of Christina Aguilera, an American recording artist, consists of six studio albums, two compilation albums, one EP, one soundtrack album, twenty-five solo singles, four video albums, and thirty-one music videos. In 1998, Aguilera was selected to record the song "Reflection" for the Disney animated feature film Mulan (1998). Recording "Reflection", Aguilera signed a recording contract with RCA Records and released her self-titled debut album on August 24, 1999. The album reached the top of the Billboard 200, selling nine million copies in the U.S. Her singles "Genie in a Bottle", "What a Girl Wants" and "Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You)" topped the Billboard Hot 100 during 1999 and 2000, and "I Turn to You" reached number three. In 2000, Christina began recording her first Spanish-language studio album and her second studio album titled Mi Reflejo, which was released on September 12, 2000 and contained Spanish versions of songs from her English debut as well as new Spanish tracks. As well, in 2000 Aguilera released her third studio album My Kind of Christmas.
On October 26, 2002, after much delay, Aguilera's fourth studio album, Stripped was released. The album sold more than 330,000 copies in the first week and peaking at number two on the Billboard 200.[1] The album's second single, "Beautiful", was a commercial success and helped the album's commercial performance. To date, Stripped has sold over 13 million copies worldwide.[2] Aguilera's fifth studio album Back to Basics, released August 15, 2006, debuted at #1 in the U.S. with over 346,000 copies sold in the U.S. alone,[3] the UK and eleven other countries. Aguilera described the double CD as "a throwback to the 20s, 30s, and 40s-style jazz, blues, and feel-good soul music, but with a modern twist."[4] The album has yielded three commercial singles: the U.S. Platinum hit "Ain't No Other Man", the European number-one hit "Hurt" and "Candyman". The album was received well by critics and has sold 4.5 million copies worldwide.[5]
After five studio albums altogether, Christina released her first greatest hits album Keeps Gettin' Better: A Decade of Hits, which has sold over 351,000 copies in the United States.[6] Aguilera's sixth studio album Bionic (2010), which incorporated aspects of R&B, electropop, and synthpop, was met with mixed reviews and poor sales.[7][8][9][10][11][12] Aguilera's albums sales are estimated at around 50 million units worldwide.[13][14]
