Chiyonofuji no Ōichō (千代の富士の大銀杏?, "Chiyonofuji's Topknot") is a sumo video game for the Family Computer. The game was released in 1990 to an exclusively Japanese market.

Summary

The player is able to customize their own sumo wrestler by giving him a unique appearance;[1] effectively pre-dating the character creation and be-a-pro modes that would be added in later sports video games.[1] Traditional Japanese paintings would inspire the title screen while the characters would have a chibi appearance to them.[1]

Items that can be added include eyes, ears, mouth, and nose.[1] Once the customized wrestler is created, he must fight against other sumo for the title of Yokozuna. There are two bars for each player that allow the player to fend off and deliver attacks.[1] A tutorial mode is added that allows players to practice their moves against an AI opponent that is lower in intellect that the actual game's AI.[1]

The developer of this game developed the Guilty Gear series of games - with the first game of the series coming out in the year 2000.[1] Sendai no Tomio no Daiginnan is the alternate title name of this video game.[1]
