The discography of the Cherry Poppin' Daddies, a Eugene, Oregon-based ska-swing band, includes five studio albums, four singles, two compilation albums, three demos and three music videos, among other recordings.
The Cherry Poppin' Daddies were formed in late 1988 by vocalist Steve Perry and bassist Dan Schmid following the disbandment of their psychedelic rock group Saint Huck. The Daddies released their debut album, Ferociously Stoned, in 1990 on the Sub Par Records label. After underground success in the Pacific Northwest region, they began touring nationally by 1993, independently producing and recording two further studio albums on their self-owned label Space Age Bachelor Pad Records. Their third album, 1996's Kids on the Street, proved to be a minor commercial breakthrough on the heels of the mid-90s third wave ska revival, earning distribution through Caroline Records.[1]
In 1997, the Daddies signed with Mojo Records to release a compilation of their swing material, Zoot Suit Riot. Arriving concurrently with the late-90s swing revival, Zoot Suit Riot became the band's most commercially successful release to date, selling over two million copies in the United States and going gold in several countries.[2] Following the commercial disappointment of their 2000 follow-up Soul Caddy, the Daddies were dropped from Mojo and entered a hiatus, returning in 2008 to independently record and release their fifth studio album, Susquehanna. The following year, the band signed to indie label Rock Ridge Music to release both a re-issue of Susquehanna and the ska compilation Skaboy JFK.
