Admiral Sir Charles Edward Kennedy-Purvis GBE KCB (2 May 1884 – 26 May 1946) was a Royal Navy officer who went on to be Deputy First Sea Lord.
Kennedy-Purvis joined the Royal Navy in 1899.[1] In 1931 he was made Commanding Officer of the aircraft carrier HMS Glorious.[1]
He became Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff in 1935 and Commander of 1st Cruiser Squadron in the Mediterranean Fleet in 1936.[2] In 1938 he became President of the Royal Naval College, Greenwich.[2]
He served in World War II as Commander-in-Chief, America and West Indies Station and then, from 1942, as Deputy First Sea Lord.[2] He died shortly after leaving office in 1946.[2]
In 1910 he married May Conquest.[1]
