ChangeGroup is a retail foreign exchange and bureau de change company, headquartered in London, UK in and has 120 branches in airports, seaports and city centres globally. It was founded in 1992 by Mohammed Zackariya-Marikar. His son, Sacha Zackariya is CEO.[1]
ChangeGroup won the Ambassadors for London Award and a Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2006.[2] In addition, it has met the Investors in People standards for 10 years.[3]
The Sunday Times found that ChangeGroup offered the best exchange rates on euros when it conducted research in July 2011 [4], although before 2008, the company had been criticised by a number of newspapers comparing currency exchange rates, from the Sunday Mirror (who described them as "worst on the High Street"[5]) to the Los Angeles Times ("the worst deal of my London experiment"[6]). However, some articles also mentioned that they are willing to haggle,[6][7] bringing the cost down considerably.
