Chanchal (Bengali: চঞ্চল) is a town in Malda District, West Bengal, India.
Chanchal is located at .[1] Chanchal is the headquarters of the Chanchal subdivision. Also, the headquarters of the Chanchal–I CD block is here.[2]
Chanchal subdivision consists of six blocks Harishchandrapur–I, Harishchandrapur–II, Chanchal–I, Chanchal–II, Ratua–I and Ratua–II.[3] Chanchal comes under the "Tal" region of the district.
It was the home of Raja Saratchandra Rai Bahadur, who had built the Chanchal palace. The King was married to Queen Dakshyani. The palace was transformed into a government college in 1969.
