Chameau (literally: Camel) is a mountain located on Terre-de-Haut Island on the archipelago of Îles des Saintes with the height of 306 meters (1,004 feet).It is the most elevated hill of the archipelago. Chameau is situated in the Southwest of Terre-de-Haut island and is covered with forest. In the summit, there is an ancient watchtower, called La tour modèle (literally: Model tower) where we have a magnificent panorama on the archipelago.

Today, Chameau is the property of the Conservatoire du littoral and is a protected site category IV IUCN[1].
