Chalap

Chalap or shalap (Kyrgyz: чалап [ʧɑlɑp], Kazakh: шалап IPA: [ʃɑlɑp]), also marketed as Tan (Kyrgyz: Тан, [tɑn]) by Enesay (Kyrgyz: Энесай), is a beverage common to Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. It consists of yogurt, salt, and modernly, carbonated water. The Shoro beverage company markets chalap as "Chalap Shoro" (Kyrgyz: Чалап Шоро).

Idiomatic usage

May be heard as an exclamation point to a particularly poignant insult in the deep south.
