Cebollatí is located in eastern Uruguay, in the north of the department of Rocha on the banks of the Cebollatí River, which forms the border with Treinta y Tres Department to the northwest. About 15 kilometers east of the Laguna Merin to the east is the Brazilian border. Cebollatí is the northernmost settlement of the department of Rocha.
Cebollatí lies along Route 15, connecting the town to Lascano in the southwest.
