Cavotec is an international engineering group, headquartered in Lugano, Switzerland, that manufactures power supply systems for mobile equipment.[2]
Cavotec supplies the ports and maritime, airports, mining and tunnelling, and general industry sectors. Main services include the design, manufacturing and supply of shore-to-ship power systems, also known as Alternative Maritime Power or cold ironing, and automated mooring units. These mooring systems use vacuum and hydraulic technologies and are used to moor several types of vessel, including container ships, bulk carriers, roll-on/roll-off vessels and ferries. Cavotec also manufactures cable management systems.[2]
Cavotec migrated to the NASDAQ OMX Stockholm stock exchange on October 19, 2011.[3]

The ports and maritime sector forms the majority of Cavotec’s business. Cavotec supplies vacuum-based mooring system MoorMaster™, Alternative Maritime Power (AMP) systems, motorized cable reels, marine propulsion slip ring columns, electrical power connectors, power chains, and crane controllers. The aim of these technologies is to enable the ports and maritime industry to operate safely, sustainably and more productively.

Cavotec is a ground support equipment (GSE) integrator for the global airports sector. Cavotec develops GSE systems - including fuel, water and power supply units- tunnel systems, pre-conditioned air units (PCAir), aircraft connectors and caddies designed to help airlines and airports to reduce tarmac congestion, improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Customers are primarily public and private airports and airport authorities, aircraft manufacturers and general contractors.
Cavotec’s Airports Market Unit comprises four companies: Cavotec Meyerinck, based in Germany, supplies a range of fueling systems, fluid and surge control, and loading terminal products for the aviation, petrochemical and food beverage industries. Cavotec Fladung, based in Germany, specializes in in-ground utility systems – including a pre-compressed air (PCAir) system – mobile caddies, aircraft cables, connectors and tow-bars and cable coilers. Cavotec Dabico, based in the UK and the US, has developed aircraft ground support equipment (GSE) since 1966. The company coordinates product manufacturers, supervise installation, start-up and support of in-ground fuelling systems at airports worldwide. Cavotec INET, based in the US, produces technological applications designed to increase efficiency and safety at airports. Established in 1967, with headquarters in Fullerton, California, Cavotec INET designs, manufactures and installs stationary and mobile aircraft servicing equipment. Through Cavotec’s domestic and international sales and field support offices, Cavotec INET supplies solid state frequency converters (400 Hz, 28VDC, 270VDC) and motor generators, pre-conditioned air and power generation systems.
Cavotec started out as a supplier of tunnelling and mining equipment when the business was established in 1974. Initially focusing on the electrification of drilling rigs and other mining equipment, Cavotec today supplies cables and hoses, motorized cable reels, power connectors radio remote controls, radio remote control receiver units and spring driven cable reels. Customers are primarily global OEMs and mining companies.
