He continued to play for the North Stars for the next two seasons and also joined their junior team who plays in the East Coast Super League (ECSL) for part of the 2008 season.[2] Starting the 2008-09 season Minson moved to Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada and joined the Fort Saskatchewan Chiefs of the Chinook Hockey League. Minson played eight games for the Chiefs before moving to Turkey to join Anka SK of the Turkish Ice Hockey Super League.[2] After the end of the Northern Hemispheres 2008-09 season Minson returned to Australia and rejoined the Newcastle North Stars as well as playing three games in the ECSL for the Ice Breakers and the North Stars. After the Australian 2009 season Minson moved to Germany and joined SC Forst of the Bavarian Landesliga for whom he played for the whole 2009-10 season.[2] Minson returned to Australia after the end of the 2009-10 season and rejoined the North Stars for the 2010 AIHL season. He played for the North Stars for majority of the season before moving back to his home state of Western Australia and joining the West Coast Avalanche of the Western Australian Super League and Senior A for the last few games of the season.[2][3] Starting the 2011 season Minson moved across to another team in the Super League, the Vikings.[3]
Minson was first called up to represent Australia in 2004 where he joined the national under-20 team to compete in the 2004 IIHF World U20 Championship Division III tournament being held in Sofia, Bulgaria.[4] Australia won the tournament, gaining promotion to Division II for the following year while Minson finished the tournament with three assists and twelve penalties in minutes.[4][2] The following year he was again called up to the under-20 to compete in the 2005 IIHF World U20 Championship Division II Group B tournament. Australia narrowly avoided relegation, finishing just ahead of Belgium and Minson scored his first international goal, finishing with two goals and an assist for the tournament.[5][2] In 2008 he moved up the national senior team to compete in the 2008 IIHF World Championship Division II Group B tournament being held in Newcastle, Australia. Australia won the tournament and earned promotion to Division I for the following year.[6] Minson rejoined the Australian team to compete in the 2009 IIHF World Championship Division I Group A tournament. Australia failed to win any of their Division I games and were relegated back to Division II for the next year.[7]
