Carl Johan Malmsten (April 9, 1814 in Uddetorp, Skara County, Sweden – February 11, 1886 in Uppsala, Sweden) was a Swedish mathematician. He is notable for early research[1] into the theory of functions of a complex variable, and for helping Mittag-Leffler start the journal Acta Mathematica.[2]
In 1844, he was elected a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
