Canan (2011) is a Turkish television production, whose chief executive officer is Bahadır İnce. The production of this serial was supported financially by world renown companionships Koliba Film Yapım and Fox Broadcasting Company.[1]

This serial was inspired by Peyami Safa's namesake novel, published in 1925. This TV series broadly outlines the anxious life of a woman overwhelmed by vicissitudes encountered in past. At an early age, she was taken forcibly from mother's breast by Renknaz, a conceited and vainglorious woman. During her indwelling at the Karahan mansion, she'd incur repulsive events, such as the rape that attended as witness without her consent Bedia. She remained pregnant, her daughter being left in an orphanage by Renknaz Karahan, but Canan knew that her baby died at birth. The innocent love between Canan and Selim dissimulates the fetid events of her past. Karahan spouses banish her, being forced to live on the streets. Mahir, an amiable teenager, hosted her for several months. He'll benefit from an admissible job in France, Canan being forced to live again on the streets. However, Mahir managed to get a job as a babysitter for Canan in Western Europe. Now, Canan, wealthy woman, returns blinded by revenge, decided to retrieve affection, friends and dignity lost in her obscure past. Once Canan discovers that her daughter is alive, things take an unexpected turn, she gives up plans for revenge and makes every effort to recover her daughter. Withal, Elif, natural daughter of Canan, is Selim's adopted daughter. Canan endeavors to approach Elif to her, but lies instigated by Renknaz Karahan and approved by her husband, Şakir, estrange increasingly more Elif from Canan. A series of misfortunes diverges on the Karahan family, all being put on Canan's consciousness. Blinded by vengeance and malice, Abdullah and Karahan spouses make an arrangement, of which follow that Canan peremptory out of their lives. But events take an ineluctable turn, Canan being ravished by ruffians paid by Abdullah.[2]
The protagonists are Canan (Gamze Özçelik Pektaş) and Selim (Erdinç Gülener), being present in all episodes.[3] Harika Uygur drafted the casting for this TV series.[4]
