Associação Desportiva Cabofriense, or Cabofriense as they are usually called, is a Brazilian football team from Cabo Frio in Rio de Janeiro, founded on January 2, 1997.

Home stadium is the Correão stadium, capacity 12,000.

History

The club was founded as Associação Atlética Cabofriense, then the team changed its name to Associação Desportiva Cabofriense. Associação Desportiva Cabofriense went bankrupt, and was replaced by Cabo Frio Futebol Clube. In 2001, Cabo Frio changed its name back to Associação Desportiva Cabofriense.

The club's mascot is a marlin fish, named Espada ("Sword" in Portuguese). According to Cabofriense's website, the marlin was chosen as a mascot because it represents strength, vigor, combativeness and technique.
