CILT-FM (96.7 FM, "Mix 96") is a radio station broadcasting a hot adult contemporary format. Licensed to Steinbach, Manitoba, it serves southeastern Manitoba, even to Winnipeg. It first began broadcasting in 1998 with an adult contemporary format as Lite 96.7.[1] The station is currently owned by Golden West Broadcasting. By 2006, the station changed formats to hot adult contemporary (in a more American-style playlist) under the branding Mix 96 and the adult contemporary format is now exclusively heard on rival CKY-FM. The adult top 40 format is more classic hits-leaning, like Edmonton's CKNO-FM. In September 2008, it became the only adult top 40 station in Winnipeg following the flip of former rival CHIQ-FM to alternative rock (that station is now classic hits as of 2010); this changed four years later when CJGV-FM joined the adult top 40 rivalry.
